Multi Fuel Burners
These units come in many different styles, colours and sizes they are used in the form of space heaters, cookers, boiler etc., but if fitted with a back boiler they can be integrated into your existing system contributing to your heating and domestic hot water, these stoves can be installed in most houses at a reasonable cost and quite easily . Any solid fuel appliance, like any gas appliance, requires to be installed by an accredited HETAS installer, or under building control certification.
Here are two samples of our installations below, and listed below are shortcuts to brochures of other manufacturers wood burning stoves with and without back boilers for your perusal. It is important when choosing a wood burning stove with a back boiler that the split between the heat generated from the boiler to the room, is the heat that is required for that room and the rest of the energy is then transferred either to a thermal store, domestic hot water, heat sink radiator or central heating. The reason for this is that if the output for the room is too high you will need to dampen the fire down which would mean less energy transferred to the back boiler, affecting the overall performance and efficiency of the central heating and domestic hot water system, in addition, the fire would then become less efficient and would produce more carbon and tar, therefore the flue would have to be cleaned more frequently and the life expectancy of your system would be dramatically reduced.
These systems are becoming more popular either as a main heating or supplementary heating source as they are one of the cheapest ways to run your system demonstrated by the tables below:-
We, as a company, do not 'supply only', we are an installation company. However, we are quite happy to work alongside fire specialists so that we can install the wet side only, if required.
There are two main integration systems, a Thermal store and a control panel.

H2 Control Panel
The panel has proved for twenty years a safe, reliable and efficient solution to the linking of conventional gas, oil or electric heating system with solid fuel either in the form of boilers, open fires, room heaters and cookers etc. By using the back boiler facility on the solid fuel appliance, piping through the H2 controller which allows the solid fuel appliance to operate under a regime of controls and safely contribute energy into a fully automatic system.
H2 Controller takes up little space and usually fits in the airing cupboard, as it is fully pumped its positioning is flexible and can use your existing hot water cylinder. It can be fitted to systems up to 40kW.
Environmental concerns coupled with the rapid rise in energy prices of recent years have resulted in a resurgence of interest in wood burners, many homes are benefiting from the increased efficiency and consequential cost reductions the system brings. In addition the H2 panel meets EEC regulations on hot water temperature and heating system controls and it has been designed with safety in mind.
